Me:
I am a grandma without grandchildren. I love to craft and bake. I’m passionate about nonprofits/social causes, and my life goal is to live in a RV. I love blogging, but I don’t always spend as much time on it as I need to.
I started this blog while I was in college and on a very tight college budget. In college, you don’t have a lot of money or time to blow on crafts, so here’s my collection of free and easy crochet patterns, recipes and lots more free and easy crafts, how-to’s and whatever else comes to mind.
Crafts!
- Crochet:
Here you can find easy crochet patterns with photo tutorials. There’s crochet patterns for baby clothes, scarves, hats and lots more! Check it out. - Wine Crafts:
Sometimes it’s embarrassing how much wine you can find in my apartment. I always feel bad tossing them out, so I’ve found a few creative ways to keep those wine bottles and wine corks around. Cork baskets, cork ornaments… Basically, cork everything. If you’re a wino and looking for a craft, you’ve come to the right place. - Scrapbooking:
I wish. It’s just way too expensive on a college (or slightly post-college) budget. - Other:
Miscellaneous crafting is probably the best. I love Christmas crafts, home decor crafts, ways to organize and lots more.
Food!
- Baking:
Baking is usually my specialty during the winter. It’s impossible to resist my peanut butter toffee chip caramel turtles. Even my diabetic grandmother can’t resist one or two a year… - Vegetarian Cooking:
Since March 2011 I’ve been a vegetarian (well, mostly vegetarian) and I’ve been trying out all sorts of recipes. I’ve also been eating seasonally and locally (again, mostly), so no tomatoes and avocados create some challenges. Living in the Pacific Northwest makes it pretty easy, but seasonal eating takes time. So, let me help you if you’re just beginning! - Drinks:
I’ll probably be reviewing some alcohol, mixed drinks and maybe some wineries as the summer goes on.
Other Interests!
- Gardening:
I have recently also started a garden. In my very proud moments of raising these little baby plants from seedlings, I’ll be posting photos and perhaps tips if I learn any! - Photography:
I’m not sure how much photography will be on here, but you will be guaranteed to photos regularly on this blog!
